Round 2 Mod Sub finals report

Juraj Hudy in the D-Final

The second round of the Mod sub mains was run just before the 2 first A-mains and in the C-final it was Hot Bodies racer Steffen Leinburger that took the win. At the beginning Atsushi Hara was knocked out of contention after a tip from a racer caused his body shell to catch, meaning he had to stop for attention. This seemed to inspire Hara to go quickly as he put in a 15.9 second lap trying to catch the leaders. Up Front Leinburger was coming under serious pressure from Jonas Adersson and Jonas Kaerup, the pair managing to close up on Steffen with 30 seconds to go, but he kept his cool and won, the top 3 covered by 1 second.

Simo Ahoniemi leg 2 action

In the B final it was Toni Rheinard that was the early leader from Marc Fisher and this was the way it stayed until 2 minutes in when Toni crashed allowing Simo Ahoniemi to sneak through into the lead. Once up front, he could extend his lead over eventual second place runner Shin Adachi who was 4 seconds behind after the 5 minutes. Toni managed to recover to 3rd.
