Remarks – Reigning Reedy Race Champion Joern Neumann is running the DEX210 with the +8mm chassis that he has been running for 12 months now along with some new parts for this race. On the rear of the car the lower rear wishbone mounts have been machined to be 2mm lower than the current lowest position which gives improve forward bite and better landing capabilities. The upper rear linkage mount has also been updated to be stronger and has been given and additional outer mount for further tuning options. For this clay race Joern is running a shorty pack to help reduce the weight of the car.

Chassis Focus – Ryan Cavalieri

Chassis Name – Associated B4.2 Factory Team
Motor – Team Orion VST2

Remarks – Reigning double World Champion Cavalieri is running the latest factory team version of the B4.2 with some other bling parts from JConcepts, including the battery brace and a complete set of titanium turnbuckles, which he anodised himself to match his car. Powering the buggy is the all new Team Orion VST2 brushless motor which the American says has a much more linear bottom end power delivery which gives him the punchy feel that he likes, but that the motor also runs cooler allowing him to run more timing for more overall power.

Chassis Focus – Elliott Boots

Chassis Name – Kyosho Inferno MP9
Engine – Novarossi Plus .21-4BTTS
Tires – AKA
Radio/Servos – Sanwa
Remarks – Worlds Top qualifier Elliott Boots is running a standard Kyosho Inferno MP9 with the only small change for this event being a new harder material used in the rear lower wishbones. The newly crowned British National Champion is running a similar setup to that used back at home which utilizes softer springs to help cope with the bumpy conditions, something he has experience of racing on back home.

Chassis Focus – Robert Batlle

Chassis Name – Mugen MBX7
Engine – Novarossi Plus .21-4BTTS
Tires – Procircuit
Radio/Servos – Futaba
Remarks – The 2-time European Champion is running the brand new MBX-7 from Mugen and it is going very well for the Spaniard, Robert is sitting top of the qualifying list after 4 rounds. Batlle came and won the warmup race with the MBX6 back in September but those setups don’t transfer across to the new X7 so it is a steep learning curve but so far they are very happy with how the car is currently performing.

Chassis Focus – Billy Easton

Chassis Name – Serpent 811 Cobra 2.0
Engine – Novarossi Bonito .21 7XLBS

Remarks – The former 2wd EP Offroad World Champion is running the latest 811 Cobra 2.0 from Serpent. Having raced at the warmup, unlike a lot of the other manufacturers, Billy who is responsible for designing the car comes to the race with the same car configuration from that race with no new special parts for this very specific track.

Chassis Focus – Dakotah Phend

Chassis Name – TLR 8ight 2.0
Engine – Team Orion CRF B321
Tires – Pro-Line
Radio/Servos – Spektrum
Remarks – Dakotah Phend is running his TLR 8ight with a number of changes to the normal car, which the team are trying on this unique track. We were asked not to go into specific detail about the new parts but there are some subtle changes to the geometry and other suspension updates.
