Remarks – Reigning European Champion in the class, Michal Orlowski is competing in 4WD running a pretty standard Schumacher Cat K2. The car is equipped with a Front Adjustable Brake system, small bore shocks and a WTF fan, which takes care of keeping the LRP motor cool.

Remarks – Racing three classes here in Odense, Xray’s Portuguese star Bruno Coelho is running a pretty standard version of the 2016 T4 touring car from the Slovakian manufacturer. The car is equipped with low friction belts and an aluminium screws set, and sports some new orange drive shaft blades that are designed for higher durability.

Remarks – Top Yokomo driver in the Buggy division here at the DHI Cup, British driver Tom Cockerill is running a YZ-2 equipped with front and rear LMR wings and under LiPo weight. The car also features a titanium screw set, vented slipper plate and rear aluminium uprights.

New in the Pits – JConcepts

Making their trackside debut at the 2015 JConcepts Indoor National Finals, JConcepts brought a number of new items to Omaha for their team drivers which will be available for general release very soon. First up is the new line of t-wrenches available in 7mm for 1/10th offroad wheel nuts and the 17mm version for 1/8th offroad wheel nuts. Made from aluminium and available in black or blue the end is extruded to allow you to ‘quick spin’ the wheel nut and features a t-handle so you can tighten down or loosen the nut. Seen on the table of Ryan Maifield is a new carbon and aluminium high end setup board. Large enough to be used with a 1/8th truggy but better suited for 1/10th scale, the outer frame has been machined from blue anodised aluminium with the work surface made from carbon fibre.

Seen on many of the JConcepts team driver’s car is the new Stabilizer rear wing that incorporates a rear gurney flap, similar to that used on 1/8th wings, which can be bent forward to further increase downforce. Available for the B5M and the 22 3.0, as the name suggests the wing offers a lot of stability due to the large amount of downforce the wing generates. In terms of bodies, the Warrior and S2 bodies are now available in lightweight versions, perfect for dropping weight which is especially useful in stock classes.

Remarks – 2wd 17.5 Buggy top qualifier Shane Borden is running an interesting Team Associated B5M Lite which features an MIP 3 gear transmission as well as some other optional parts. The new tranny moves the motor 3mm closer to the centre line and due to it being machined from aluminium it prevents flex in this area as well as adding extra weight to the rear of the car. Starting with softer oil in the rear of the car when he arrived at the Hobbyplex he returned to his base setup and changed to a softer front spring. Shane also used the new Stabilizer rear wing from JConcepts which gives more rear grip which he combined with a front wing which he said helped tame the steering for perfect balance.

Remarks – Current ROAR National Champion Ryan Cavalieri is running a standard Associated B5M CE to TQ the 2wd class here in Omaha. Using a new standard setup that they came up with before coming here he has only had to change to a stiffer rear spring because of the higher speeds on this track. For aero he is using the JConcepts S2 body which is lower than the kit body which means less roll in the corners, while he is running the kit standard front wing which he says gives more front end grip allowing him to get on the power earlier. Ryan is running scrubbed AKA Chainlinks in clay compound.
